In this tour to Delphi, we visit the famous ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of Pythia, the oracle consulted about important decisions throughout the classical world. The Greeks also considered Delphi the center of the world, symbolized by the stone monument known as the Omphalos.

Delphi is located on the south-western slope of Mount Parnassus in Phocis, about 184 km west of Athens and reachable in under two hours. According to Greek mythology, Zeus identified Delphi as Earth's center, and Apollo became master of the sanctuary after slaying Python. Some of the oldest findings in the area date back to 4000 BC.

Recognized by UNESCO for its exceptional influence in the ancient world, Delphi is filled with monuments dedicated by major Greek city-states, reflecting their shared Hellenic identity. Besides the sanctuary, we visit the Museum of Delphi, which houses rich collections of architectural sculpture, statues, and smaller offerings.

About 30 km from Delphi lies Arachova, a famous mountain village and popular winter destination. There, you can stroll through picturesque pathways and explore local markets known for traditional dairy products and woven fabrics.
